HENRY’S WISH COMES TRUE!!!
Thanks to our Hollenbeck community, our school raised $7804.35 to grant Henry’s wish. Exceeding our goal of $5000 allowed our school to not only grant Henry’s wish, but to help John Weldon Elementary school achieve theirMake-A-Wish goal. Hollenbeck grant helped grant two wishes in one afternoon. In a school wide assembly, we celebrated our success with music, Fredbird, a hotwing-eating-manicure-receiving teacher (Mr. Purcell), a creative head shave(Mr. Menchaca), and HENRY HIMSELF! The day ended when Mr. Borgschulte and Mrs.Hamer slept on the roof. Yes, they really stayed there all night.
This is an amazing accomplishment for our school. We are so proud of our students’ generosity and compassion. And Henry’s family was overwhelmed. Thank you to everyone who helped make a 7 year old’s wish come true.
