Learning Commons Book Collection Guidelines
FHSD Learning Commons have a broad selection of books, in print and online, available for checkout. You may see what we have to offer by clicking on the ‘Learning Commons’ tab on your school’s web page and then select ‘Find a Book’. Destiny, our library management system, will allow you to search the collection by entering specific book titles, authors, or subjects. You may see the E-book collection by clicking the ‘Follett Shelf’ tab, log in with your student’s login credentials:
(Login: first initial of first name + all of last name + last 3d igits of ID # and password: student created)
You may then search the E-book collection by searching in the same manner. We hope you will find that Hollenbeck's collection offers engaging choices that will foster a love of reading in your child.
Young adults are a diverse group whose interests, maturity levels, needs and abilities vary greatly. FHSD school collections are created to meet the needs of a wide variety of readers at various maturity levels.
Therefore, all Hollenbeck books designated as appropriate for Young Adult readers due to more mature content will have a yellow YA sticker next to the barcode. The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) of the American Library Association (ALA) defines a 'young adult' as someone between the ages twelve and eighteen.
If you have questions or concerns regarding specific items in the collection, feel free to contact the librarian, Mrs. Kim Riley at 851-5314.
